please pray

go here and pray for this little girl, now.

too busy!

i know, i know; i've been a terrible blogger lately.  the thing is i have SO much to blog about, but no time to do it!  just hang in there, i promise lots more good stuff to come soon! :)

a good duet

this was SO good.  i was less than thrilled with reba and kelly's crossroads, but i loved this.  i mean seriously, sarah evans and maroon 5!  i like both of these artists, and i was really cool to see them together.  good stuff.

tv shows

this has become a monday night tradition for my hubby and i.  seriously...it's addictive.  deanna is awesome and has some really good guys left to choose from.  tonight brandon's favorite, graham, was sent packing.  he was pretty bummed about it.  now we're rooting for jessie and jason.  who will she choose?  keep watching!

sunday afternoons are nice

well we're back from vacation.  it was a wonderful week of pure relaxation, rest, and fun that went by WAY to fast :(

we got back to g-ville early sat morning and went to pick up our dogs from the boarding place.  needless to say they were excited to see us, and they have been so good since being home.  that's probably due to the fact that they actually got exercise while being there.  maybe we should find some time to walk them more than once a week...

speaking of our dogs, maya (the siberian husky) is blowing her coat...it is horrible the amount she is shedding.  we finally gave in a bought a furminator last night.  lets hope it works.

last night and this afternoon were/are being spent doing my spanish culture midterm and statistics test.  now that i'm working on my bsn, i'm having to take all this extra classes that weren't required for nursing.  it's loads of fun...

the entire time i've been doing homework, brandon has been playing xbox live...it's so funny to watch him with the headset talking to people all focused in and serious on the tv...lol

this morning's worship at crcc was AMAZING.  i felt His presence there for sure.  it was also my sunday for kids zone, and one of my girls told me she had gotten saved last week!  go lexi!  she was SO excited and said (exact words) "it's so weird, the moment i asked Him into my heart i felt so light inside".  she was beaming.  how freakin awesome is that?!

God is doings some really neat growing in mine and b's hearts lately.  it's so exciting to see glimpses of His plan for us.  He really does have our best interests in mind.

i think i'm going to grab a nap before heading to work tonight.  i'm hoping my hubby will go get us some starbucks later too :)

too much fun

i'm sorry for the lack of new blog posts this week, but frankly i'm having too much fun to blog.  days spent sleeping in, hanging out at the beach, lying by the pool all day, swimming, shopping, going on a sunset cruise, going downtown, eating ice cream every night, playing games, reading books, and having nothing to do just don't allow much time to blog.  hope your week is going as well as mine...:)

vacation...yes!

so this REALLY long week is over (thank you Lord) and later today we're heading to the land of salt water, sand, and nothing to do...:) and it's to my favorite beach ever. i think everyone going on this trip especially needs a vacation. it's coming at the perfect time. brandon has been working like crazy between his 7-4 job and then lawn care until late each night. i've been at the hospital working lots of hours. andrew has worked 13-14 hours/day doing yard care and tile. my mom just got out of school; she's a teacher. and well, my dad could always use a vacation. his job is a tough one for sure. needless to say we're pumped to get away!

but, as usual, things don't always go as planned, so before we can head out we have to get the toyota people to fix the battery in our new car. so i'm sitting here waiting at the dealership typing as we speak. good thing i had roadside assistance yesterday. we'll leave it at that :)

there probably won't be an extreme amount of blogging done around here in the next week, go figure, so i hope everyone's upcoming week will be as good as ours. it's a good reminder to slow down and take some time to rest. life goes on without you, really it does, and your body, mind, and spirit will thank you. and probably your family and friends too. i know mine will :)

being busy

some afternoon thoughts...
  • this past weekend has been pretty busy.  saturday brandon and i went to ikea in atl with our friends james and brittani.  they're getting married in august, just bought a house, and needed some furniture.  it was a long drive, but fun.
  • sunday we had a guest speaker at crcc; david hodge from winning with encouragement.  sadly we easily forget how much we all need encouragement.  it's vital.  great sermon.
  • sunday night i headed up to nc to spend the night at my parents.  my little brother andrew graduated from high school monday night...crazy hard to believe.  i'm so proud of him; he has turned out to be a really great guy.
  • today was spent doing laundry, cleaning, grocery shopping and such.
  • getting ready for my 3-in-a-row at the hospital tonight. 3 consecutive 12-hr. night shifts are exhausting, but if i can get through them...
  • i'll be heading to THE BEACH on saturday!!  me, brandon, andrew, gini, mom, and dad will be spending a week at my favorite beach in charleston, sc.  i cannot wait.  we all need some relaxation and rest in a bad way.
  • going to go grab some dinner before work.  will most likely be slow blogging for the next couple of days.  hope you all have a great week! :)

no more hair

this is my HOT hubby.  for most of our relationship he has had longer hair, except for when i first met him.  last week though, brain shaved it all off for him.  he looks good doesn't he?  kind of like he's a marine or something :)

oh, and this is my 100th post.  kinda cool huh?

this is a photo of brandon and i about 3 years ago.  3 years ago today, 06.03.05, the man who is now my husband and i started dating.  i had just graduated high school and he college.  it was romantic; lake junaluska, starlight, warm summer evening.  i still remember his exact words..."so, um, do you wanna be my sugar mama?"...what?  ha ha.  he was just kidding and did ask me seriously after that, but it sure was funny and made the moment a little more laid back :)

it was the beginning of a long-distance relationship that led us to become husband and wife a little over 2 years later.  it was something only God could have designed, and we're having a blast building a life together.  can't wait to see what the future holds!

this a.m.

this morning i was refreshed and re-awakened.  let me explain.
the music moved me beyond any real words i can describe; i felt Him there.  the message spoke to me so directly it seemed, that it was almost scary.  in kidzone during prayer requests one girl's best friend's mom just died of cancer 3 weeks ago and another's parents are going through a divorce.  these kids are dealing with problems bigger than too much homework, and they're just in elementary school.  the Holy Spirit is teaching my spirit to slow down and be more attune to others and not be so focused on me (which our lesson was about).  cathy had a similar post today here.  after prayer, these same kids worshiped God from the bottom of their hearts.  it is simply an unexplainable thing to see 50 elementary kids shamelessly dancing, singing, and raising their arms to their Father.  simply beautiful.  needless to say it was a great Sunday morning at crcc.  He showed up.  not that i should be surprised by that, i know :)
