this may be a random thought post. you have been warned. :)
i painted our dining room this past week. due to the fact that our dc trip got cancelled due to the hubby not feeling to good, i decided i needed to make use of the few days off i had. a painter is coming next week to paint our kitchen and living room, but i figured i could save a little moola and do our dining room myself. easy enough right? painting is one of those things that always starts out fun and exciting, but leaves you sore, frustrated, and sick of trying to be so careful not to get paint on your carpet/furniture/clothes. add our 9ft ceilings to the mix and you're in for a real treat. anyway, i'm glad it's done. our rug under the dining room table is blue/brown/green squares, so i painted the walls blue. it's kind of a light steel blue that looks grey sometimes. i loved it, then hated it, and now it's growing on me again. i don't claim to be an interior decorator, but i'm hoping it looks okay. i'll post some pictures after next week when it's all done. i also hung a few pictures. kristina you would be proud.
work has not been bad overall. just busy as usual. sadly, as of this past week, since i started working here 18 kids have passed away. 18 kids. craziness. like i always say - don't take your family/friends for granted. you just can't.
i feel like fall was here for about 2 seconds and bam ... it's like wintery. if that's even a word. highs have been in the mid 40s. i haven't been out much though, because i've been working night shift and sleeping all day. the glamorous hours we nurses have :)
my best friend rachel's baby shower was this weekend. of course i couldn't go, becuase i was working and am 6 hrs away. sometimes i do get very sick of the fact that i miss all these family/friend get togethers. ugh! wish i could have been there rachel! hope you and abby got lots of great pink baby things!
i got this recipe from my piano teacher like 5 years ago for molassas spice cookies. i've been making them every year since. they are so freaking good! i made some this past weekend for a church thing tomorrow night, and i must say - they are yummy! they taste like fall. ahhh.
sorry this was so random. just getting some thoughts out of my overloaded brain.
