almost two weeks ago, my best friend rachel and her husband tyler welcomed one of the most beautiful babies i've ever seen into the world. i seriously cannot wait to get down to north carolina to meet her. isn't she sweet?! congrats rachel and tyler! she's gorgeous.

decorating bug

so i found this great blog - young house love . it has really inspired me to do some things around the house. so last night i was at my second home (target), and spotted these great cotton white curtains. i thought they would look great in our living room. our paint color is on the darker side, so i thought white curtains would look great. brandon obliged to hang them for me this afternoon, and i'm pretty happy with them. all i need now are a pair of great lamps with some white shades to complete the look. i took these pictures with my iphone, so the paint color doesn't really look like it does in real life, a more greyish color, but you get the picture. i'm thinking now i need to head over to ikea for some more decorating ideas :)

it's snowin' down south!

i cannot believe i missed this. this is today in waynesville, north carolina, not up here north in cincinnati. it never snowed like that the whole time i lived there growing up! what the heck?! it's pretty awesome though isn't it? wish i was there to play in it!

christmas time is here

the nice man from lowes putting our tree on top of the jeep. yes we got our tree from lowes, and it's very pretty!

i just can't bring myself to buy a fake wreath that will take up space in my basement and will cost me $50, so when i saw these beautiful real wreaths at trader joe's for $8, it was a no brainer. making the bow myself was pretty difficult, but i think it turned out pretty good.

i'll try to take some pictures of the tree soon. christmas is only about a week away!

busy

that is what my life has been from october until now. i'm not sure why it feels like more than normal, but it has been insane. working lots, both brothers getting hitched, church stuff, PALS, school stuff and the holidays all add up to be a bit hectic.

we're in greenville, sc - thank you Lord for the warm weather (relatively speaking). when we left ohio yesterday, it poured the snow - yes brandon, i said poured the snow ;) he always says that sounds funny and country when i say that. the high was in the mid 20s yesterday in cincy, and when we got into greenville, our car temp said 55 degrees! this made my day by the way.

we're in town because brandon's brother zach is getting married this weekend, tomorrow in fact. it has been so good to spend time with brandon's family. i am so blessed to have such wonderful in-laws, and zach and sarah have got to be one of the best couples ever. it was so neat tonight to see everyone at the rehearsal dinner speak so highly of them. they are positive, funny, happy people that everyone loves being around. we love them both, and are super excited for them!

although a bit busy, it has been nice to get away to visit. we don't take time with family lightly or for granted, especially now that we live so far away.

sorry if this rambled - i tend to do that when i haven't posted in a while :)
