weekends are too short

my weekend included:

a bachelorette party for a girlfriend from church
grocery shopping
a bit of catching up on my dvr from the past week
a wedding where i got to dress up in a new dress
a great church service
hang out time with some friends for the afternoon
relaxing on the couch in sweats to watch season finale of survivor!

what did your weekend look like?

it's often a messy, exhausting and heartbreaking job.

but it's also a job that allows those who experience it to meet some of the most inspiring people on the planet, and to care for and support people in what are often the worst times of their lives.

i honestly am so lucky to get to work at a world-class hospital with the most amazing group of nurses. taking care of children with cancer is not easy, and the nurses i work along side are simply amazing. happy nurses week to you all! you rock!

mother's day

happy mother's day to my mom desi - i hope i'm at least half as good of a mom as you. you've been the best example of what a godly mother should be. couldn't ask for anyone better.

happy mother's day to my mother in-law cathy - you have been such a sweet and thoughtful woman in my life. brandon is lucky to call you mom, and i'm lucky to be able to call my mother in-law a friend.

happy mother's day to my sister in-law gini - you are such a wonderful mom to my sweet niece adley. she is so blessed to have you as her mom.

happy mother's day to my other sister in-law sarah (who will be a mom this november). you will be wonderful.

happy mother's day to my grandmothers, oma and brummy - you both have been such great examples of how mothers seem to hold families together. you are both loved by many.

i am beyond blessed to have all of these amazing women in my life.
